When the artist first moved to Carpinteria, California from the San Fernando Valley, he wanted to pay tribute to the central coast by painting Santa Barbara’s “American Riviera.” This signature mountain range, cradling the city of Santa Barbara below, has been known for contributing to its Mediterranean climate, characterizing its warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
It’s the largest painting the artist has produced to date.
